God Is Love

“The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love." (1 John 4:8)
"God is love."

So I guess this sentence has been quoted over and over again, but wait a second, have you ever considered what this actually means? Since God is love, the very essence of His being is therefore love, you’ll agree with me right. That means if we do not love, we do not know God, for we cannot know God without receiving His love. We may know many things about God like how He spits thunder in His wrath or how He colour the skies on a cool Friday evening, but that does not prove that we know Him apparently. Loving others is a proof that we know Him.

Now it gets even better, In Romans 5:8 we read, "But God demonstrates His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Sending Jesus Christ to this earth to die that horrible death on the cross is a demonstration of God's love for sinners - and that includes all of us, for at one time we were sinners. Our minds may wonder how this can be possible, yeah but this is the declaration of the scripture.

God brought a true expression and demonstration of His love into the world by the offering of His Son. Jesus Christ came to awaken humanity out of its sleep of death. He came to bring life righteousness and warmth; He came to put an end to Adam's unregenerate humanity by being the firstborn of a new humanity. By faith in Jesus Christ we are born, well not the kind that makes us spend nine months in our mother’s womb. We are born not into the material world, but into an everlasting life of riches of Christ's rule and dominion anyways! We receive Christ's pure mind that wants to do the will of God. We receive His love!

It is this love that brought us out of the deep, and personally saw us when we were lost. Same love said to me, forget about putting your name on the sands of time when you can write ‘em on the “Rock of Ages”. From the dawn of creation He saw us each and every one of us a special piece of that great play waiting for that final moment when He’ll call us home.
